Remix Sunday

What a fantastic day Remix Sunday was! People who did not believe that 7.30am really did exist found themselves worshipping God early in the morning, while others who usually are curled up with dinner on Sunday night were worshipping God at 6pm. At Newlife we are one big, happy (sometimes dysfunctional) family and we celebrated that God-given gift of unity in diversity last weekend.

We also continued our Time to Build series by naming what marks a life of commitment. Paul encourages us in Romans 6 to offer ourselves to God ‘as people who have been brought from death to life.’ You can download the audio and text of my message here.

12wo (6pm) picked up the same theme with Ralph and Jon Morris tag-team preaching. There are some wonderful stories that inspire and challenge us to greater levels of commitment. You can listen to Ralph and Jon’s message here.

Youthstreet Fuel Outreach Event

Youthstreet’s second FUEL night (Friday June 3; 6.30-9.00; $5 @ Church) will attract and engage with State School young people who do not yet know Jesus. How can you be involved?

First, you can pray for all the different elements to make this night amazing, and pray also for the young people in our youth and in the schools.

Second, you can spread the word for us and encourage any high school students you know to come. Last, you can donate or sponsor cool prizes. We have some great ideas (surfboard, apple iPod, etc.) but no funds to purchase them.

If you would like to respond to any of the above, please contact Ralph Mayhew on 0407 728 502 or ralph.mayhew@newlife.unitingchurch.org.au

Time to Build Prayer Vigil

We are now well into the second half of our Time to Build season. Prayer has been a critical part of the journey. On Saturday June 11 we will be holding a 12 hour prayer vigil, commencing in the church at 7.30pm with worship and communion. We would love as many people from the church as possible to participate as and when they are able through the night. Our Prayer Coordinator, Christie, will set up a Prayer Journey in the Lakeside Lounge that will be available from 6pm and then again after worship and communion, and there will be various stations and activities that people of all ages can participate in right through the night. The café will also be open from 6pm for light meals and coffee.

Kids Hope Mentoring

Do you know about this wonderful ministry occurring weekly at our local primary school? Ten amazing people from a cross section of ages mentor one child each week. Robina Primary is so impressed that they are begging us to provide more mentors because there are many children who need such a ministry.

If you have an hour to spare this year during the school day please have a chat with Chris Reeves (0432 82 995) or Elizabeth Danes (0433 543 243).
