Christmas Day Service Times – 8am and 9.30am!

Christmas is only days away now and we thought it was really important to remind you about our Christmas Day service times, which are different from our regular Sunday times.  On Christmas Day we will be meeting at 8am and 9.30am.  Please encourage family and friends to arrive at least ten minutes before either service commences to ensure they get a seat.

There will be no 6pm service on Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve Services

Of course there are five other opportunities on Christmas Eve to celebrate at Newlife.  Our Kidzlife Christmas will be happening at 4pm and 5.30pm and our Robina Christmas Eve celebrations will commence at 9pm and 11pm respectively.  And we are thrilled to be holding our very first Christmas Eve celebration at Pacific Pines at 8pm on Christmas Eve at Jubilee School.  What a wonderful time we will have as we celebrate the greatest gift our world has received!

New Year’s Day Combined Services

Newlife will be celebrating New Year’s Day by coming together for three worship services at Robina (8.30am, 10.15am and 6pm).  A video and activity sets will be provided for children at both morning services.

There will be no celebration held at our Pacific Pines Campus (Jubilee School) on New Year’s Day.  Newlife – Pacific Pines will hold its first celebration for 2012 on January 8 at 9.30am.

Celebration of the Life of Michel Brenot

On Tuesday this week our beloved brother Michel Brenot passed from this life into the next as his battle with cancer ended.  A celebration of Michel’s life will be held at the church this Friday commencing at 1pm.  All of Michel’s Newlife family is invited to come to celebrate his life and his and our faith.  Please pray for Michel’s wife Pam as she grieves his loss.

Liberty for the Oppressed

Last Sunday morning at Robina we concluded our Jubilee Advent series as I (Stu) reflected on Jesus’ proclamation of liberty for those oppressed by sin.  You can download the audio and transcript of my message here:  http://www.stucameron.typepad.com/

What does God require of us?

At 12two last week Ralph concluded the Naiveté Scene series by asking the provocative question as to what God requires of us.  What are we meant to do?  Micah 6:8 was the focus of Ralph’s response, as was an inspiring interview with Ian and Tahme Johnson.  You can download it all here:   http://www.thebeanbag.typepad.com/

Prayer Point

Every week we want to provide you with some prayer points to help guide you as we partner together in bringing our thanks, praise, adoration and requests to God.

  • We thank God for the success of interviews this week for staff for our Isle of Capri Learning Centre and for the notice we have just received that a license for us to operate the centre will be issued this Friday.  We pray for the timely issue of a Federal Government provider number that enables us to access subsidies and rebates for the centre.  We pray for the staff, children and families of the centre – that they would have a blessed and safe Christmas.
  • We pray for preparations for our 7 Christmas services – that they would with boldness and relevance proclaim the radical message of Good News that is at the heart of the Christmas story.  We particularly pray for Craig as he prepares the creative elements for these services.
  •  We pray for Pam Brenot and her family as they grieve the lost of Michel.
  • We pray for all those for whom Christmas is a time of loneliness and disappointment.  We pray they through our church and other Christian communities they might find solace and fellowship and hope at this time of the year.
  • We pray for the hundreds of volunteers and staff of our church who will have the opportunity to ‘catch their breath’ over the next few weeks.  We pray that this would be a time of refreshment and renewal in the life of our community
