Last Sunday
Last Sunday morning Stu concluded our Live Wider series and challenged us with the message that we are the Ecclesia of God – or the church of Jesus Christ. We are called out and summoned forth by him and for him. So what is it that we are being called out from, and to what are we being called – particularly as the church of Jesus Christ at Newlife in 2011? You can listen to or read Stu’s compelling message here.
In evening worship, Ralph talked about the 8th most important statement which (according to 12two) is Lk 18:27 “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” These 9 words have been misused and mispreached for years in the Church, as well meaning Christians have applied them to all manner of situations, when Jesus in fact meant them for one. It is impossible to be saved and receive eternal life! Impossible! Except through what Jesus has done for us. You can listen in here.

Phase 1 Property Development
Last Sunday our members voted overwhelmingly to proceed with Phase 1 of the Property Development here at Newlife Robina. Whilst an enormous amount of the hard work of planning has already been done, more hard work is ahead of us in finalising plans, gaining approvals from the various bodies, and perhaps most importantly, raising the necessary funds to build.
This is an incredibly exciting time for our church as we move forward to all that we believe God is calling us to! Further details about the property development can be found on our website or from our office during the week.

This Sunday
This Sunday (7.30am, 9am, 10.45am and 6pm) we begin our Lent series ‘The Great I Am’ with Jesus’ statement ‘I am the bread of life’. We’ll take the opportunity to celebrate Holy Communion together. Kidzlife will also celebrate Holy Communion this week and will be led in that celebration by Orrell Battersby, our church plant minister.
You are welcome to celebrate Holy Communion either in the main church or with your children in Kidzlife if you prefer.

Small Groups
Most of our small groups will begin the Lent study that complements the Sunday preaching series this week. If you’re not yet a part of a small group this is an ideal time to join! Contact melissa.lipsett@newlife.unitingchurch.org.au for a suitable group in your area.
We have had some interest in beginning a small group for adult singles. If you have any interest in this and are in the age range of 35-50, let Melissa Lipsett know.
Our new Community Life worker Lyndon Mulholland and his wife Anna will be leading a new small group for young couples around 30-40 years in the very near future. Contact Lyndon for further information at lyndon.mulholland@newlife.unitingchurch.org.au
