Peter Pollock This Weekend!

Peter Pollock will be our special guest at Newlife this weekend.  Peter is a South African cricketing legend who not only played test cricket, but also captained his country. 

Peter will be speaking at a Men’s Breakfast on Saturday September 17 at the church.  Tickets are $15 and are still available at the church office (Phone 5578 9322).

Peter will also be speaking at all three Sunday morning services (7.30am, 9am, 10.45am).  This will be a great weekend to invite to church those you know who do not yet know Jesus.

Thailand Mission Trip

In early January 2012 Melissa Lipsett will be leading a mission trip to the hills of northern Thailand to connect with our Acts 1:8 mission partners, Siami and Sawitree.  If you are interested in being a part of the group, please email Melissa at melissa.lipsett@newlife.unitingchurch.org.au.

Global Leadership Summit

Every year we have the privilege of hosting the Global Leadership Summitt(GLS) – a two day leadership teaching intensive with some of the world’s best innovators and teachers.  GLS this year will be held on October 21-22.  We have a special Newlife registration rate of $70, or $60 for students or concession.  Registration forms are available from the office during the week or the Info Desk on Sundays.

Funstuff

Funstuff, our holiday program for primary school aged children, is running from September 26-28, 9am - 3pm each day.   You can find out more about the program through the flyer available at the Kidzlife desk on Sunday or in the church foyer during the week.   As we prepare for Funstuff, we would appreciate if you could drop into the office or bring on Sunday the following craft supplies: Glass jars (of any size) with the labels removed/Coloured plastic shopping bags/Scrap material/Match boxes/Newspaper/Egg cartons/Wool.

Kids With Courage

The next Kids with Courage program for year 1-4 students will run in Term 4 on a Wednesday afternoon, commencing October 12.   This is a fantastic program that helps children develop resilience and confidence.  Forms and further information is available from the Newlife Care office during the week or the Kidzlife table in the courtyard on Sundays.

New Mums Group

A group for new mums began this week.  Meeting in the Lakeside lounge on Fridays from 9.30-11.30am, the group will provide an opportunity to gather for friendship, support and encouragement with other young Christian mums. There will be a devotion and an  opportunity to pray together as the children play (toys and activities provided). It will be happy chaos! Morning Tea will be provided (BYO children’s food requirements).  Of course our Coffee @ Newlife menu will also be available.
