Sowing Seeds

Last Sunday morning we continued our Just Walk Across the Room series which explores the why, when, where and how of evangelism – telling others about our faith. 

This week we started to look at the ‘how’ of evangelism as we reflected on Jesus’ Parable of the Sower.  We discovered that God calls each and every one of us to get our hands dirty as we immerse ourselves in the lives of those around us. Craig Bailey on Leadership

Last Saturday we had the privilege of  having Craig Bailey address the topic of Leadership with some Newlife people who exercise that gift amongst us.  Craig is the Lecturer in Leadership at the Uniting College of Leadership and Theology in South Australia.  He is also a great friend of our church.  Ralph recorded Craig’s message on his trusty I-Phone.  The recording is not sensational but still very much worth the listen.  You can download it at Ralph’s blog:  http://www.ralphsblog.net/

This Sunday @ Newlife

This Sunday morning (7.30am, 9am, 10.45am) Ralph continues our Walk Across the Room series as he reflects on how our story intersect with God’s Story as well as the story of others.  Ralph will be busy as he will also be preaching at 12two on the evening (6pm) as we continue the Undercover Jesus series.

Imago Dei – Living into the Image of God

Our very popular Winter School continues, with Science and Faith wrapping up its four-week season recently and Alpha rolling along well. 

We have another very exciting Winter School option that will run over two Saturday afternoons starting this weekend. Graham Leo will be addressing the vital topic of what it means to be formed by the truth that we are image-bearers of God.  Two, three-hour sessions will run on Saturday August 27 and Saturday September 3, running from 2.30pm to 5.30pm each day.  You can still register by calling the office this week (5578 9322) or by emailing Liz,  http://liz.mcnamee@newlife.unitingchurch.org.au.

New Mums Group

A group for new mums will be beginning on September 16 in the Lakeside Lounge.  The group will meet from 9.30-11.30am and will provide an opportunity to gather for friendship, support and encouragement with other young Christian mums. We will also share a devotion and pray together as the children play (toys and activities provided). It will be happy chaos! Morning Tea will be provided (BYO children’s food requirements).  Of course our Coffee @ Newlife menu will also be available.
