Tax Deductibility
Last week we received the wonderful news that the Australian Taxation Office granted tax deductibility status to a sizable portion of our Time to Build building project. Praise God!
This simply means that if you are a tax payer, and should you desire to, you may claim a tax deduction for the amount you give toward this part of Time to Build. To claim the tax deduction you will need a receipt, and to issue you with a receipt you will have to identify your gift. A tax deductible gift cannot be anonymous.
There are two ways you may make a tax deductible gift to Time to Build. First, you can do this by using the special (green) weekly envelopes that identify tax deductible gifts to Time to Build and Newlife Care Inc. Second, and perhaps more easily, you can make your tax deductible gift through direct giving into our specially designated bank account, clearly identifying it as a contribution to Time to Build. You have the option to make your tax deductible gift monthly or annually by either cash, credit card, or direct giving (including online). Please don’t hesitate to contact Barry Jeffriess or Ken Bungate for more information in this regard.
Please note that it is only donations to Time to Build that can attract tax deductibility. These gifts are ‘over and above’ our normal giving and should not replace our regular tithes and offerings that support the mission of our church.
For those who would like them, the special green coloured Time to Build envelopes for tax deductible gifts are available. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE FOR REGULAR TITHES AND OFFERINGS. THEY SHOULD ONLY BE USED FOR TAX DEDUCTIBLE GIFTS IN ADDITION TO YOUR REGULAR GIVING. Ask for these envelopes at the information desk or at the office.
Finally, please do not ask for a tax deductible receipt if you don’t need it. It is only of use if you are a tax payer. We will still need a significant part of our TIME TO BUILD contributions to be non tax deductible.
