Prayer Vigil

This Saturday there will be a Prayer Vigil held at the church as we continue to cover our Time to Build season in prayer. We will gather in the church at 7.30pm for worship and communion after which you can engage in various prayer options. (Prayer walk, one-to-one prayer, prayer journey stations in the Lakeside Lounge etc) The Lakeside Lounge will be open all night for people to come and pray and experience the prayer stations, leading right up to morning worship at 7.30am. Come long for as little or as long a time as you can and when you can!
This night is a very special opportunity to experience the presence of God in ways that may not have before – please come for at least a short period of time – we know you will be blessed if you do!

Call to Fast

Leading into our Prayer Vigil we are calling all who are able to fast through Saturday as we draw into the presence of God.

Pentecost Sunday

This Sunday (7.30am, 9am, 10.45am, 6pm) we commemorate and celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, and with it, the birth of the church. I will be preaching from Ezekiel 47:1-12 and believe that God has laid a ‘word in season’ on my heart for our community. We will be providing an opportunity for prayer ministry for those who are feeling spiritually dry. We will also look forward to what God might have in store for us as a church.

Thanksgiving Celebrations

Next Tuesday (June 14) we will be holding two wonderful Thanksgiving Celebrations at church, 10am and 7.30pm. We will be looking back and with gratitude for what God has done in our past and looking forward with anticipation at what God will do in and through our church. We will sing together, view some amazing historical footage and explore God’s vision for us as a church.

Morning tea and a light supper will be served at the celebrations and child minding will be provided by Liz and her team at the 7.30pm celebration.

We would love as many people who call Newlife home to attend one of these celebrations. Please RSVP by dropping your invitation response into the church or by emailing Liz at liz.mcnamee@newlife.unitingchurch.org.au or calling 5578 9322. We really need to know how many are attending for catering purposes!

Building a Life of Sacrifice

Last Sunday we continued our Time to Build series by naming what marks a life of sacrifice. We explored the exemplary life of King David who famously said ‘I will not make sacrifices to my Lord that which costs me nothing.’ (2 Samuel 24:24).
You can download the audio of my message here.

12wo (6pm) picked up the same theme with Ralph preaching a cracker of a message. You can listen to Ralph’s message here.

Newlife – Pacific Pines

Orrell and Christine and their team are well under way in planning for our new church campus – Newlife Uniting Church – Pacific Pines. Last Sunday they hosted a ‘Q and A’ session for anyone wanting to know how they can support this vital new mission. Another ‘Q and A’ lunch will be held on Sunday June 12, commencing at 12noon in the Youth Centre. If you would like to attend this event, which includes Soup and Crusty Bread, please contact Orrell in the office (5578 9322) or email him at Orrell.battersby@newlife.unitingchurch.org.au

Pledge Sunday

Sunday June 19 is our Time to Build Pledge Sunday across all Sunday services. You should have received at least one Pledge Card. Please be prayerfully considering what it is God is calling you to contribute to Time to Build.

On June 19 we will provide an opportunity in every service for people to come forward and place their pledge before God. For those who have already made your pledge (thank you!), we will provide a card that allows you to come forward as an act of worship with everyone else.

This will be a historic, holy and sacred moment in the life of our church. Don’t miss out on being a part of it!
