Soft Hearts – Sharp Minds – Hard Feet

We are in the middle of Vision Week, which commenced last Sunday as across our four services we celebrated the vision God has laid on our heart for 2011. God wants us to be people with soft hearts always amazed by His grace, sharp minds being renewed by the Holy Spirit and hard feet that go to whomever and wherever in order to share the Good News. What a time we had across all four Sunday services as we celebrated the incredible privilege we have to participate in God’s mission in the world!

Property Video

On Sunday we also showed a 14 minute video that showed in detail the plans for stage one of our property development. God has blessed us with an incredible site that we want to continue to use for his glory.

Congregational Meeting

We would love all Newlife members to attend a Congregational Meeting straight after the 10.45am service on Sunday 6th March (12noon) where we will vote to progress the development of our property detailed in the video mentioned above.

Papers for the meeting are available from the office during the week or from the information desk this Sunday.

Men’s BBQ

This Saturday night (February 26) we have our first Men’s Ministry event for the year as we hold a BBQ on Wave Break Island. We will meet in the Spit car park at 5.30pm. Cost will be $20.

Many Hands make Light Work!

On Saturday March 5th we need about 20 people (guys and girls) to help our regular gardening team with some overdue summer maintenance jobs. We plan to start at 7am and finish by 10am and will provide brunch. No previous experience necessary - just a willingness to help and some enthusiasm and energy. Leave your name at the information desk or office, or just turn up!

Youth Camp

Youthstreet Camp is happening next weekend March 4-6.If you know of any high school students who may wish to come along, we would love to invite them!

Cost is $95 for the weekend. We are going to a camp site in Burleigh, so drop off is 6pm Friday, and pick up is 2pm Sunday.

Please speak with Ralph or Cory (0415 713 143; cory.maxwell-coghlan@newlife.unitingchurch.org.au) if we can help get a high school student to come. If you would like to sponsor a young person, please also speak with Ralph or Cory.

Ash Wednesday Service

Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent, the 40 day period of reflection before Easter. To mark the start of this special season we will be holding an Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday March 9, from 7.30pm.

The service will feature prayer, reflection and Holy Communion.

This Sunday

This Sunday morning (7.30am, 9am and 10.45am) we continue our Live Wider series as we explore the depths of community we can experience here at Newlife.

On Sunday night at 12two (6pm) Ralph will be continuing our journey diving into some of Jesus’ most famous and provocative teachings in our Red Letter series.
