New Sermon Series July onwards

On July 4 we started two new sermon series in our morning and evening services.  In the morning we will be working our way through Paul’s amazing letter to the Ephesians in a series called ‘How then shall we live?’  At 12two (6pm), we will be reflecting on what it means to swim upstream in our culture in a series called ‘Veto’

Singleness in the Church Conference

To be single in the Church can often be seen as a disease - “That person is single, what’s wrong with them?” This event aims to create a space where our thinking about this issue can be broadened, as we have an in-depth look at what it means to be Christian and single, and how the Church can cater for and respond to this issue more effectively.

The conference will be held on the 17th July, 2011, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at Southport Church of Christ and the cost is $10. Taryn Rose & Brendan Burgess will be the Guest Speakers.

WATOTO Children’s Choir

WATOTO Children’s Choir from Uganda in East Africa will be at Newlife Uniting Church on Tuesday 9th August 7:30pm.

These 22 children, between ages eight and 13, have been left parentless by things such as war, disease and abandonment.

They are ambassadors for the Watoto Child Care villages in Uganda, Africa, and will use their songs, colourful dancing, African beats and amazing personal stories to offer to Australians a hope that proves one can certainly rise above their circumstances.

We also have a few opportunities left for billeting of children/adults of the choir for Tuesday evening.

Free admission (love offering taken on night). Please email Liz McNamee for further enquiries.
